11 May 2018  |  Four scenarios were prepared using data gathered from public sources on to examine resilience in various parts of the Palembang Metropolitan Area.

 

Scenario 1: Human Vulnerability
This scenario plots vulnerable settlements as defined by two data sets: population impoverishment and risk of flooding.

 

 

 

Scenario 2: Potential Development Areas
This scenario identifies suitable greenfield development areas in the region as defined by being accessible to existing transport networks, having low or no risk of flooding, and being relatively flat.

 

 

 

Scenario 3: Healthcare Accessibility
This scenario identifies those settlement and activity centers whose populations have good accessibility to general hospitals.

 

 

 

Scenario 4: Landfill Location Selection
This scenario identifies locations for landfills based on criteria that include being distant from heavily populated areas and incompatible land uses, with gentle terrain and low risk of flooding.
